The Adult 50+ Ministry of Crossroads Christian Church is
a vibrant, growing ministry of encouragement, fellowship,
opportunities for service and spiritual growth for adults
age fifty and over.
Life Groups @ Crossroads
We offer Sunday morning Bible study through three different Life Groups on Sunday mornings:
* Successful Spiritual Living meets at 7:45 a.m.
- Led by one of our founding members, Al Dillon, and Les Clark
- It’s for early risers who have no need of childcare.
* The Fountain meets at 8:45 a.m.
- Led by Seniors Pastor, Jerry Jenkins, and Ronald Erickson
- It's a small group environment where you can ask all your
questions.
* Prime Time meets at 10:00 a.m.
- Led by Seniors Pastor, Jerry Jenkins.
- It’s for people who enjoy the buzz of a large group.
Work in Progress meets on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Patio 1A.
Life Groups @ Home
There are several small groups that meet on a monthly basis for prayer, fellowship, snacks, games and meals.
Service
Our Adult 50+ people serve in a variety of ways:
- Helping with weekly bulletins and mailings each Friday.
- Feeding and praying for people in need through Crossroads’ Helping Hands Ministry each Thursday.
- Volunteering to serve in our office helping the staff with administrative details, phone calls and more.
- Leading a Life Group @ Home
- Hospital calling with Pastor Jenkins
- We also serve in all the different areas that help Crossroads function smoothly – UpFront, Life Groups, Children, Youth, Music, Decision Counseling, Prayer
Events:
Several exciting events are planned on a quarterly or monthly schedule:
Box Office Bible Study
Box Office Bible Study meets on the third Friday of each month and consists of a catered dinner, devotion and a movie.
Quarterly Dinner
A quarterly fellowship dinner meets on the first Friday, four times a year, featuring a program including games, speakers or a seasonally themed party such as the Christmas White Elephant gift exchange.
Grandparents' Banquet
The annual Grandparent's Banquet is scheduled for the first Friday evening in September following Labor Day to celebrate National Grandparents Day.
Other Events and Activities
Each June offers the opportunity to attend the Senior Adult Conference in Branson, Missouri and a Senior Adult Retreat is always in the works. Recent trips to The Bureau of Engraving, the Prestonwood Christmas Festival, The Promise in Glen Rose and the Fort Worth Ballet at the Bass Performance Hall are among some of the recent outings organized by Adult 50+ Ministry.
