Podcasting FAQ

  1. What is a podcast?
    Podcasting is a form of broadcasting on the Internet. A podcast is nothing more than a digital file, just like any other song or MP3 file on your computer. When you subscribe to a podcast, all new shows will be automatically downloaded to your computer as they are published. This way, you will always have the most up to date podcast on your computer, without you having to go and search and manually download the new sermons.

  2. How frequently will you update?
    Updates will be available weekly, usually on Sundays and Wednesdays a few hours after the service has ended.

  3. What format are the files in?
    The audio files in this podcast are encoded in mp3 format.

  4. Do I need an iPod to listen to or watch the files?
    No. Despite the name, you don’t need an iPod to listen to podcasts. Podcasts can be listened to on your computer or on any media player.

  5. I click on the link and nothing happens. Why?
    You need a podcatcher application like iTunes to subscribe to a podcast. You’ll also need an media player application like iTunes, Windows Media Player or Real Player to play to the file.

  6. Can I use a Podcast reader other than iTunes?
    Yes. You may use any podcast capable RSS reader.
