Crossroads Christian Church and Upward Sports have partnered
together to bring the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex a first-class sports
experience. Upward Sports, the world’s largest Christian sports program for
children, was created with a vision to provide the best sports experience possible for
every child. Each year some one million people around the world play, coach, referee or volunteer in Upward Sports Leagues hosted by more than 2,400 churches. Anyone – children
and volunteers of any faith or no faith – can participate in Upward Sports. Here at Crossroads, through our Upward Sports program, children will learn about teamwork, build character, as well as build a relationship with Christ.

WHAT IS UPWARD?
Upward is an international nonprofit organization, which has been around for more than 10 years. Upward Sports provides children with an understanding of what it means to be an athlete. It emphasizes healthy competition, sportsmanship, skill building and fun versus the “win-at-all-costs” mentality found in many other children’s sports leagues. Upward defines winning as good sportsmanship and fun.

WHY CHOOSE UPWARD?
Every effort is made for equal competition through balanced teams. No pre-established teams are allowed in these leagues. Players sign up as individuals and are placed on teams after going through a very simple skills evaluation. Each player gets an equal amount of game time and will start many games throughout the season. Upward promotes character and self-esteem for every child in these ways:

• It creates opportunities for every child to learn the skills of the game
• Each child gets an equal amount of play time due to the substitution system
• Children receive a special recognition after each and every game
• Every team practices an hour each week
• Being part of a team creates friendships
• A special award is given out to all players at the end of every season
